This excursion wends its way through the beautiful Des Moines River valley and takes one over two bridges—one trestle is 156-foot high. Weekdays the nine-car train is pulled by a diesel engine. On weekends and holidays, The Iowan, said to be the first Chinese steam locomotive in the United States, does the work.
The Wolf Train and the Dinner Train trips are each twenty-two miles round-trip. Riders should allow at least two hours for a trip.

The massive renovation of the Adler Theatre began in 1984 and continued for two years. The building was essentially gutted and then restored to its former Art Deco elegance.
