While visiting this small town Rock Island Railroad depotin Moingona that has been restored, one can learn the Kate Shelley story—how this fifteen-year-old girl warned a passenger train about some impending danger on a dark and stormy night.
Visitors can look at a working telegraph and other railroad memorabilia and artifacts that relate to her life. A Rock Island Rocket passenger car houses a theater in which a video presentation of Shelley’s story is shown.
