This museum in Ames is on the top floor of the Scheman Building which is in the Iowa State Center in the south part of the campus at Iowa State University. This building is located near Hilton Coliseum, Fisher Theater, and Stephen Auditorium. The museum has an outstanding permanent collection of decorative arts: glass, ceramics, and paintings. These represent both eastern and western cultures. The museum often play host to both national and international traveling exhibits. Gallery talks and children’s programs are given often.

Directions – turn north off of U. S. Highway 30 at Elwood Drive and continue north; the Scheman Building is to the west of the Hilton Coliseum

Hours – 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., Tuesday – Friday, 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m., Thursday, 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m., Saturday – Sunday (closed holidays)
