This museum in Van Meter, Iowa, is housed in a brick building. On one outside wall is a mural that depicts “Rapid Robert” in a series of pitching poses. Inside is displayed an extensive collection of baseball memorabilia, many of which detail Feller’s career with the Cleveland Indians. (He was only 17 years old when he struck out 17 players in a single game in 1936.)

Exhibits include old uniforms, newspaper clippings, baseball cards, rare photographs, trophies, awards, and artwork.

Admission – $5.00 for adults, $3.00 for adults for 62; $3.00 for school-age children; children less than school-age are free.

Directions – Just minutes from the Bridges in Madison County and only 12 miles west of Des Moines. Take I-80 west to Exit 113. Located 1 mile south at 310 Mill Street, next to Wells Fargo Bank.

Hours – 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday – Saturday, noon – 4:00 p.m., Sunday, year-around (closed Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Day)
