Chicago, Milwaukee, And St. Paul Depot – Adel, Iowa
This passenger depot was built in the early 1900s to serve the railroad that ran through Adel until 1952. The building has now been renovated. Since the railbed is now the Raccoon River Valley Trail, the depot serves now as a stopping place on that trail. This trail features 34 miles of natural beauty through both Dallas and Guthrie Counties.
Riders, hikers, and walkers will find interpretive signs along the way that explain various historic sites and the natural history of the areas.
