La Vida Loca Winery – Indianola, Iowa
This winery proves that it doesn’t take just grapes to make wine. They use locally grown fresh fruits for their wines.
For many years fruits other than grapes have been used to produce wines. The elderberry, black raspberry, apples, cranberries and other fruits have a distintive taste that appeal to many that enjoy a good glass of wine.
The La Vida Loca Winery began in 1987 when, during berry picking season, the family would make jams and jellies. During this time the experiementing of making wines began with the taste being deemed a success and the business was begun.
Their reception room is available for weddings, receptions, graduations, and other parties. The reception room will seat from 120-150 people. They also have linens and table service available. There is also an area where food may be prepared or caterers to prepare food. They also have a large 1600 sq. foot deck overlooking the vineyard and gazebo for outdoor wedding ceremonies.
The wines created by this winery are available at different locations around the area for those that have not visited the winery but would like to try their wines. They do ship instate, but not out of state due to new laws put into effect by the state.
No concentrates are used in the production of their wines.
