John Ernest Vineyard & Winery – Tama, Iowa

John Ernest.jpg  John Ernest Vineyard & Winery – Tama, Iowa

This family owned vineyard is now 4 years old. They host live entertainment during the summer and fall for your pleasure.

They grow a variety of grapes such as Edelweiss, LaCrosse, Foch, Fontenac, St. Croix, St. Pipen, Einset, Concord and Catawba. With this selection of grapes the vineyard is able to produce a wide variety of types of wine including the dry wines, semi-sweet wines, sweet wines and a cranberry wine, perfect for that turkey dinner at holiday time. (Or add some clear soda and fresh cut fruit, such as strawberries, for a great spritzer!)

As an added bonus to the community and those visiting the vineyard, the Kopsa Family provides entertainment on Friday nights. This entertainment is held outdoors unless the weather is bad. As with other vineyards, they Kopsas encourage you to bring a picnic basket filled with food, pop, water, etc. to enjoy during the entertainment. However, no other alcoholic beverages are allowed on the premises. Individuals that do not respect this rule will be asked to leave. Try John Ernest Vineyard wine, you’ll like it!

Please, leave your pets at home. This is a free people only event.

There is a banquet facility that will seat up to 70 people.

There is also a wine tasting opportunity for you to get to know their wines to help in making your purchase choice.
