Corn Carnival – Gladbrook, Iowa
For over 85 years the community of Gladbrook has held a Corn Carnival for the residents and visitors to their town.
The summertime celebration, held in July, has everything you could want in a small town celebration. There are fireworks, concerts by the high school band, Litte Miss and Mr. Corn Carnival adn a Kiddies Parade. There is a carnival for all to enjoy.
Then on day 2 there is a Grand Parade in the evening followed by a dance. There are cribbage and darts tournaments during the day and a youth horseshoe tournament too.
On day 3 there is the city wide breakfast in the park, the antique tractor ride, card tournaments and corn cook-off.
Sunday is the Cornman Triathlon with the 500 meter swim, 14 mile bike ride and 5 K run. This is a USAT-sanctioned event.
This is truly a small town celebration that you will enjoy visiting.
