Sugar Grove Vineyards - Newton, Iowa
The vineyard offers cold-climate grapes to provide the best wine the midwest can produce. They have award winning wines for your enjoyment.

The Iowa Stars Hockey
- Des Moines, Iowa
They are members of the American Hockey League offering quality entertainment and great hockey.
The team practices at the KGGO Arena on Hickman. The practices are open to the public. The training sessions are in the morning.
The team was formed and began playing in the 2005 -2006 season. They have a five year affiliation agreement with the Dallas Stars and a one year agreement with the Edmonton Oilers.

The Iowa Barnstormers - Des Moines, Iowa

The Barnstormes played in Des Moines in 2001 for one season and were brought back in 2008 under new ownership and a new focus on providing quality entertainment for the Des Moines area.
The Des Moines Buccaneers - Des Moines
The Des Moines Buccaneers - Des Moines, Iowa is a tier 1 junior hockey team. They play in the West Division of the USHL. The Buccaneers’ home ice is the 95KGGO Arena.
What could me more appropriate than having the logo of a pirate wielding a hockey stick? The team lives up to the name offering a great experience of watching junior players giving it their all to win, whether it is a regular game or in tournament play.
The Covered Bridges of Madison County - Winterset, Iowa
There are 6 remaining covered bridges in Madison County. All on the National Historic Register.
An interesting piece of trivia is that usually, the bridges were named for the resident who lived closest.
Roseman Covered Bridge
Built in 1883 by Benton Jones, it is 107 feet in length and sits in its original location. Roseman was renovated in 1992at a cost of $152,515.
Terrace Hill - Des Moines, Iowa
This 1869 opulent and excellent example of Second Empire architecture is now the home of Iowa’s governor. Built by B. F. Allen, Iowa’s first millionaire, and then lived in by the Frederick M. Hubbell family from 1884 until 1971, this stately mansion is situated on Des Moines’s highest hill and overlooks the Des Moines downtown from the west.
Science Center Of Iowa - Des Moines, Iowa
Visitors can experience hands-on, interactive types of exhibits and learn about the physical and life sciences. The Digitstar Planetarium, Challenger Learning Center where one can pretend to be an “astronaut,” and small discoveries and laser shows allow young and old draw upon their scientific knowledge. Temporary exhibits on many different science-related topics are presented all during the year.
Salisbury House - Des Moines, Iowa
This 42-room mansion was built in the 1920s by Carl and Edith Weeks. It was modeled after an old building in Salisbury, England known as the King’s House. Authentic 16th century English oak, rafters dating to Shakespeare’s day, and extensive flintwork were used in the construction.
Wallace House - Des Moines, Iowa
This 1882 Italianate Victorian home was the residence of the first Henry A. Wallace from 1895 until 1916 while Wallace was editor of Wallaces Farmer, a magazine devoted to agricultural and conservation information.
The home has been restored and now is a museum and the library of the second Henry A. Wallace, vice president during the second term of the presidency of Franklin D. Roosevelt.
Prairie Moon Winery and Vineyards - Ames, Iowa
Using organically grown grapes ranging from classic Pinot Noir grapes to 10 varieties of French hybrid grapes.
The vineyard was begun in 2000 to fill the need for quality wines from the area without having to import the grapes from California or elsewhere. Now the vineyard is 18 acres in size producing the quality grapes desired.
