Formerly Costello’s Old Mill Art Gallery – Maquoketa, Iowa

This historic limestone grist mill  in Maquoketa has had many different lives. Originally it had been the Oakland Mill, built in 1867 as a water-powered turbine that supplied the power for grinding wheat. Later on, it was a cattle barn. It was an was used as  a cattle barn to house horses and cows. It was an art gallery/home to wildlife artist,  Patrick J. Costello from 1979 to 2006. Patrick’s daughter, Tracy Costello Taylor has turned it into  Costello’s Old Mill Wedding Site and Reception Hall,  a place to gettting married in the park-like backyard and have your reception just a few steps away in the historic charming mill.  Have any special event there!  The mill has been featured on Home and Garden TV TWICE!
