In Eagle Point Park, high above the Mississippi River, a nature center was established over 30 years ago. established. The Center offers displays of flora and fauna of the area and classes dealing with the environment. There used to be a zoo that was part of the center by it is no longer in existance. .
The Interpretive Center, called the Nature Barn, is an authentic converted 1938 barn. The outdoor amphitheater and stage make a good venue for nature activities so stop out and enjoy not only the beauty but the opportunity to learn about nature.
Flannery School was the last one room schoolhouse built in Clinton County (1935) and is located here for your enjoyment and educational opportuntiy The inside looks much as it did when it was in use with the desks and set up.
The center sits on 40 acres of forest and restored tallgrass prairie which is a great place to explore nature with the kids.
