Colorful gardens in all seasons! The signature garden, the tropical Sun Garden, is one of the world’s most unique conservatories and located right in Davenport, Iowa. The 6,444 square foot Sun Garden features islands of gardens, a beautiful 14-foot waterfall, reflecting pools with Japanese Koi fish and a 70-foot skylight peak with ferns, palms, bromeliads, orchids, frangipani, bird of paradise, banana plants and hundreds of other exotic tropical wonders!
The new and colorful Physically Challenged Garden was established in July 2003. It features specially-designed planting beds at varying heights so that gardeners with physical limitations can work in the gardens utilizing special tools. The garden is planted and maintained by community members with physical challenges. It is located at the entrance for easy accecibility and features colorful annuals, a gazebo and water fountain.
Kids of all ages will love to explore the Scrambled Alphabet garden. The garden was designed to to encourage children to interact with nature. Plants, flowers, vegetables and grasses from A-Z fill the garden with color and texture. Kids can dig for worms, build sandcastles, play in the playhouse, explore the water garden, plant a seed to take home.

Take the Moline River Drive (7th Avenue) exit and continue west on River Drive. In Rock Island, cross the railroad tracks and take your first right on 5th Avenue. It becomes 4th Avenue and you’ll see the Botanical Center on the right hand side after approximately 1 mile at 2525 4th Avenue.
Arriving on Interstate 88: Continue on 88 West as it changes to Highway 5 in the Quad Cities. Travel Highway 5 also called the John Deere Expressway to 38th Street in Rock Island. Turn right on 38th Street and continue 2.7 miles until it merges with IL 92 West (also called 5th Avenue). Follow approximately 1 mile to the Quad City Botanical Center at 2525 4th Avenue.
Arriving on Interstate 80 from Iowa:
Exit Interstate 280 East. Cross the Mississippi River and exit Highway 92 East to Rock Island. Travel IL 92 East to the Arsenal Bridge T intersection at 24th Street. Continue straight through lights to 5th Ave. Turn left onto 5th Ave. and travel approximately 2 blocks. Follow signs on left side of street to the Quad City Botanical Center at 2525 4th Avenue.
