Buffalo Bill Cody Museum, Leclaire, Iowa
Along the Mississippi River in LeClaire, Iowa is a museum that was developed to honor the memory of William F. Cody, or "Buffalo Bill" Cody. LeClaire was the birthplace of Cody. Some of the museum’s exhibits help to mark his place in history; other displays tell of the steamboat era on the Mississippi. A wooden-hull sternwheeler, the Lone Star, is on display; also the museum has a model of the "black box" used on airplanes.
