The museum features displays relating to the heritage of Clinton and Clinton County in Iowa.

The Clinton County Historical Society was established in 1965 to promote and preserve the history of Clinton County. To achieve these goals, the Society has several activities including the Clinton County Historical Museum, Living History Day and tours to historic sites in the county.

Most activities are open to the public.

The Clinton County Historical Museum has a research library which is open to the public during Museum hours. Information and photographs of Clinton County history are available. Look-ups are done for a very small charge, and donations are always welcome.

The purpose of the Museum is to preserve and interpret historical artifacts which have been donated to the museum by the public.

Included in the collection are many historical documents and photographs along with other items used in various exhibits.
