The museum features displays relating to the heritage of Clinton and Clinton County in Iowa.

The Clinton County Historical Society was established in 1965 to promote and preserve the history of Clinton County. To achieve these goals, the Society has several activities including the Clinton County Historical Museum, Living History Day and tours to historic sites in the county.

Most activities are open to the public.

The Clinton County Historical Museum has a research library which is open to the public during Museum hours. Information and photographs of Clinton County history are available. Look-ups are done for a very small charge, and donations are always welcome.

The purpose of the Museum is to preserve and interpret historical artifacts which have been donated to the museum by the public.

Included in the collection are many historical documents and photographs along with other items used in various exhibits.

    I am trying to find the museum next to the Little Brown Church. My 3rd great grand uncle has a pair of Drums there from the Civil War. His name was Humphrey M. Huffman. He was part of the Fife and Drum Corps and played fife or drum on marches. the drums since 1960s was supose to be at the Historical Society Museum near the Little Brown Church. I live in Oregon. I am trying to get a picture of them. to that I need to find where the drums are? Can you please help me? Maybe even a picture of him? Thank You Much,Angela

    Do you mean the littlebrownchurch.org/ ? It’s in Nashua, Iowa about 30 miles north of Waterloo. An inquiry there might bring the results you seek. Mary

    I was told that The Historical Society might have naturalization records. Is that true? How would I go about getting a copy of my 2nd great grandfathers record? What is the cost and who do I send the payment to? He was Naturalized in Clinton Co., Iowa in 1858.
