Description – The museum’s permanent collection is wide and varied. One is an interactive exhibit of ecosystems—marshland, forest, and prairie–in the Upper Mississippi River Valley. Displayed are over 100 animal specimens and an aquarium full of fish. Another room is the Hall of Mammals and that display includes full-scale African and Arctic animals. Another area covered is the Native Americans of the region and how the river and the prairie affected their lives. The Asian/Egyptian Gallery has a 3,000-year-old mummy in it. The exhibits in the Riverboat Gallery include paintings of early river transporation and miniature ship reproductions.

Admission – $4.00 for adults, $3.00 for senior citizens, $2.00 for children 5-17
