Quad-City Symphony – Davenport, Iowa
Come and enjoy the Quad City Symphony Orchestra, as it performs more than 50 times a year at the Adler Theatre in Davenport, Centennial Hall on the Augustana College campus in Rock Island, and at other locations.

The symphony was organized in 1916. The Quad City Symphony Orchestra is one of the longest-standing orchestras in the country. The symphony plays at the Adler Theatre, a restored Art Deco movie palace; the orchestra performs a six-concert season with international guest artists.

The orchestra also bolsters its future by operating one of the most comprehensive music programs in the nation. The symphony offers the program in 155 high schools in Illinois and Iowa.

Orchestra members come from throughout the Midwest, covering 18 cities. About half live in the Quad-Cities.

One of the options offered is the informational sessions with the conductor prior to the actual concert in order to familiarize those interested in learning about the symphony they are about to attend. These are offered several days prior to the event.

Driving Directions
FROM POINTS EAST – CHICAGO, ROCKFORD, DEKALB, ETC:

TO CENTENNIAL HALL, (AUGUSTANA COLLEGE), ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS:
Follow I-88 (Illinois Tollway) west to the Quad-Cities (Rock Island/Moline). Highway changes numbering to Illinois #5. Follow Illinois #5 around the Quad-Cities, passing under I-80. Road acquires name of "John Deere Expressway."
John Deere Expressway passes over I-74. Continue straight for 2½ miles, passing through several stoplights. Turn right at stoplight for 38th Street (Rock Island, not Moline!)–across from K-Mart shopping center. Intersection should also have a large highway sign indicating right turn for Augustana College.
Follow 38th Street north for approx. 2½ miles. Crossing streets are all numbered avenues and will decrease in number. At stoplight intersection with 7th Avenue (bottom of hill), turn left, then immediately right into parking lot of Centennial Hall, the concert hall of Augustana College. Parking is on the side and in the rear.

FROM POINTS SOUTH – MACOMB, MONMOUTH, ETC. (traveling on US #67)

TO CENTENNIAL HALL, AUGUSTANA COLLEGE, ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS:
Drive north on US #67 to the Quad Cities/Milan, Illinois. At T-intersection with 1st Avenue in Milan, turn left. Follow 1st Avenue across several bridges. City changes to Rock Island, street name changes to 11th Street. Continue on 11th Street to intersection with 7th Avenue. Turn right (east), follow 7th Avenue for approx. 25 blocks, watching ascending street numbers. At 30th Street (stoplight), you enter the Augustana College campus. Continue for 5 blocks, looking for Centennial Hall on the left. Just past auditorium entrance, turn left into the parking lot.

FROM POINTS WEST – IOWA CITY, ETC.

TO CENTENNIAL HALL, AUGUSTANA COLLEGE, ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS:
Follow I-80 east (approx. 50 miles) to intersection with I-280. Exit I-280 toward Rock Island/Moline. Follow for 7 miles, crossing the Mississippi River on a large, blue & yellow bridge. Take the next exit, Illinois #92 toward Rock Island (2nd exit ramp). Follow #92 for several miles and exit at 7th Avenue. At end of ramp, turn right (east) and follow 7th Avenue for approx. 30 blocks. Watch the ascending numbers of the crossing streets. At 30th Street (stoplight), you enter the Augustana College campus. Continue for 5 blocks, looking for Centennial Hall on the left. Just past the entrance, turn left into the parking lot. Enter the building through the side doors.
