Mississippi Valley Fair has Hot Line-up of Performers, Aug. 3-8

Quad Cities – Summer is the season for fairs and the Mississippi Valley Fair in the Quad Cities is one of the longest running around.  The Mississippi Valley Fair opens for its 91st year Tuesday through Sunday, August 3-8, 2010.  It is one of the largest fairs in the State of Iowa attracting more than 300,000 people. The fair has a great line-up of Grandstand shows performing each night at 8 p.m. and carnival games, shows, 4-H exhibits, and animal shows throughout the grounds every day.The Grandstand line-up is:August 3 – Montgomery GentryAugust 4 – Kellie PicklerAugust 5 – Dierks BentleyAugust 6 – ZZ TopAugust 7 – Eric ChurchAugust 8 – Blake SheltonThere will also be free entertainment on the grounds, including: Great Cats of the World, Frisco Brothers Petting Zoo and Tiger and Elephant Show, Chainsaw artist Jeff Klatt, Globe of Death, National Belgium Horse Show, Dallas the Fire Guy, a Stilt Walker, and more. New for 2010 there are unlimited carnival rides on Wednesday-Friday from 11 am-5 pm with a $15 wristband.  Wednesday is Kid’s Day with free admission for kids 12 and under until 5 pm.  Thursday is Senior’s Day with discounted $5 admission until 5 pm.The Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds are located at 2815 W.   1. I’ve been attending thefair for the past 10 years. There’s nothing better than getting a fun card and listening to great entertainment! The Jumbo screen is a huge plus!
