The county conservation commission has preserved a 70-acre area that has native timber and excellent stands of woodland wild flowers near Iowa Falls. One can also visit wetland and marsh areas. Conservationists have worked to develop stands of prairie flora such as existed in the 1850s. The nature center has exhibits of both flora and fauna—both live and preserved.
