4-H Schoolhouse Museum - Clarion, Iowa
Clarion offers its visitors a tour of the 1907 schoolhouse, completely furnished, in which the idea for the emblem for 4-H, a national organization for young people interested in agriculture, was first formulated. O. H. Benson visualized the use of the four-leaf clover as the group’s symbol. Included in the displays are items and uniforms from early 4-H clubs.

CERRO GORDO WIND FARM - Clear Lake, IowaDescription – This special « farm » consists of 55 wind turbines which occupy 2.4 acres on a site of over 2000 acres. More than 10 miles of underground cables link the turbines and send the electricity to a electric sub-station. Thirteen landowners participate in the wind farm project. Turbines can be viewed from nearby roads.
