John L. Lewis Mining; Labor Museum – Lucas, Iowa
At this museum in Lucas, Iowa visitors can learn much about the development of Iowa mining and history of labor as it pertains to mining. Early mining tools are part of the historical displays. The town is the birthplace of Lewis and the museum has a life-size bronze statue of him along with photographs and documents that pertain to his life’s work with labor unions. The museum has an extensive research library.
