Chief Wapello’s Memorial Park in Agency, Iowa is the original site of an Indian Agency and the place where chiefs of teh Sac and Fox Nation met with government officials to sign the treaty for the purchase of Iowa lands.
Located in the park are gravesites of Chief Wapello and General Joseph M. Street, first administrator of the Indian Agency. Park is located on land deeded to Street’s widow by the Sac and Fox.
