In Oskaloosa the Nelson Pioneer Farm includes structures of an 1853 brick home, 1856 barn listed on the National Register of Historic Places, log cabin Friends Meeting House (Oskaloosa is also the hosts the Iowa Yearly Meeting state office), one-room school, country store, voting house, post office, stagecoach stop, balcksmith building, machine sheds, and Kalback Lumber Co. office.
The farm is easily accessible from Oskaloosa. If you drive up you will see the settlement laid out for easy visiting and interesting history. It is worth the trip to go, step back in time and see how things "used to be."
