i was there a year ago it was awsome. it helped my favorite was mrs reiter she helped me the most with everything.with family issues. she helped me with everything. THANKS ALOT i dont know wat i would do without them beside me to help

My two brothers, Mike, Rick and I were residents in The Christian Home for 3 years. That was back in apx. 1953 thru 1956. While on a business trip to Omaha year ago, I looked for and found the location where the home was located. Only the front of the chapel was left after a tornado hit, at least that is the best I can recall. My wife and I talked to the staff and found that it was now Children’s Square. I also started a page “The Christian Home” on Facebook and invite anyone to visit the page. Two nice ladys from Children’s Square are members. Facebook changed their format a year or so ago and it may be hard to find.

I cried when we were put in the home and I cried when I left. We were well treated and couldn’t have been in a better place short of being with our grandparents.

The only names I recall are Ron and Terry Lichty (sp) and Eugene Ecker(sp) and Gene’s brothers. I also remember a girl by the name of Lucy who was in the big girl’s dormitory. Rev. Barnsby was our pastor. I remember Dave Lemon and Mrs Lemon.

I WOULD JUST LIKE TO SAY THAT I HAVE SPOKEN WITH MY GRAND-DAUGHTER CURSTY PIPER AND SHE SEEMS TO BE HAPPY THERE BUT WANTS TO COME HOME. MT GRAND-SON GAVEN GREEN WILL NOT TALK TO ME YET BUT WILL GIVE HIM TIME. JUST WANT TO SAY I THINK YOU ALL ARE DOING A GREAT JOB AND IT TAKES SPECIAL HEARTED PEOPLE TO DO WHAT YOU ALL DO EVERYDAY. I HAVE SPOKEN TO DUSTY AND HOPEFULLY WE WILL GET OUR BABIES BACK HOME HERE TO ALABAMA WITH US. WE MISS THEM VERY MUCH AND LOVE THEM VERY MUCH. BUT THANK YOU FOR ALL YOU DO TO KEEP THEM SAFE, AND FEEL LIKE SOMEONE REALLY CARES FOR THEM WHILE THEY CANT BE HOME WITH THE ONES THAT LOVE THEM THE MOST.

My sister is a resident of Cotten Wood Cottage and will be probaly untill she reaches 18. I’ve seen major improvement in her every day. She has set back but yet she strives to become a better person. She always talks about Ms. Emily there and how wonderful she is. I’m so glad that you are takign the tiem to help her through her problems and helping her to become the wonderful person I know she it. i was a resident in pearl miller from sept 82 til aug 83 curious if any of the staff is still around it had major impact onmy life from monday night business groups to thursday night feelings groups hated to go there in beginning but place has been on my heart since i left 26 years ago the 8th of aug god bless you all
