Breda Memorial ParkBREDA MEMORIAL PARK – Breda, Iowa

In Breda, Iowa is the wonderful former home stadium of the Breda Eagles, semi-pro team of the 1940’s and the 1975 St. Bernard High School State Baseball Champions. It features one of the few remaining wooden covered grandstands in the Midwest. Built in 1947 (totally restored in 2001) for $15,000, it was described as “one of the best baseball parks in the state” with grandstand seating 600 and “lighting facilities equal to any in Iowa”. Can you tell me how you got information on the number of wooden grandstands? We are trying to research this because we also have a covered wooden grandstand and wonder how may are left in the United States.
