Dale Valley Vineyard and Winery – Stuart, Iowa

Dale Valley VineyardDale Valley Vineyard and Winery – Stuart, Iowa
Produces red, white and blush wines. Provides tasting room and gift shop in turn-of-the-century, renovated one-room schoolhouse.

Taking an interest in not only growing quality grapes to produce wonderful wines the owners are interested in the history of the area.

The land they are on was originally parceled by John Lonsdale in 1853. Mr. Lonsdale was a businessman who also had an interest in education. He built a one room school and even had the school master living with his family while teaching the 30 plus children of the area.

The school house has been moved from it’s original location up to the winery where it is an intrical part of the experience of Dale Valley Vineyard and Winery.

The winery has 5 different wines that are available for purchase: Edelweiss: A dry, refreshing white evoking the flavors of green apple, honey-suckle and pineapple with a subtle earthy note up front. Primary grape: Edelweiss $12.00

Country Parish A sweeter, fruit forward, medium bodied white wine with the enticing flavors of pear, honey and strawberries. Primary grape: Pinot Grigio $12.00

White Gold A buttery medium bodied and semi-dry white, hinting at spiced red delicious apples and smooth citrus flavor; finishes with notes of oak. Primary grape: Geisenheim $12.00

Lizzie Red
A dry, light bodied red with sweet vanilla in front dancing with the flavors of black cherry, berries and currant; finishing soft and smooth. Primary grape: Rosetta $11.00

White Schoolhouse
A crisp refreshing white stirring up memories of lemon custard and finishing on subtle sweet peach and tangerine notes. Primary grape: Catawba $10.00
